The Parish Council
The Parish Council owns Sotterley Chapel (which has been restored by the Sotterley Chapel Preservation Trust) and the Chapel Cemetery.
We have a licence to manage and use Shadingfield Playing Field.
We own the bus shelter on London Road.
We are consulted by East Suffolk Council, Suffolk County Council and other organisations on planning applications and a range of other issues affecting the four parishes.
If residents raise an issue with us we pursue it with whatever organisation is responsible.

Format of meetings:
All Parish Council meetings are open to the public and press.
The purpose of the meeting is for Councillors to discuss Parish Council business and whilst the attendance of residents is welcomed, they are not allowed to join in the discussions of the Councillors.
During each meeting the Council will set aside time for public questions. Residents may put questions to the Chairman regarding local concerns and where possible the Chairman will respond. Issues requiring formal consideration or decision may have to be deferred to a later meeting.
The Parish Council abides by the Code of Conduct of the Local Government Association (2020). This is available under 'Policies' here or from the Clerk.
